A Team Approach to Successful Delivery
I would like to add that this has been a fantastic effort and shows what we can deliver when we work together as a team. We have taken a scheme that was fraught with difficulties at the start and a huge challenge with disgruntled traders, to being so successful at the end. Well done to all and please pass this on to anyone I may have left off the list. We have started a new challenge today with the start of the construction in Gloucester Place and I wish you the same success with this project and the High Street project later this year. The pamphlets we sent out said `A Team Approach to Successful Delivery` and the delivery of this scheme shows that it is true and it does work. PGR Help Sywell Aerodrome

Blockbusters! 6th September 2010 On Saturday 4th September, members of the Museum visited The Old Drill Hall, Wellingborough to rescue nine anti-tank blocks which were to be crushed prior to the imminent demolition of the building. Constructed in 1940 to thwart the expected German invasion, such blocks are rare this far northward - with the Museum`s extension complete, we needed them to add to those already saved (they stop people driving into the hut!!). Their recovery was able to take place due to the kind offices of Pete Walton, Les Bristowe of PGR Construcion, Tony Gale of MGWSP and John Udall of The Borough Council of Wellingborough - thanks to them another bit of local wartime history has been saved!

Traders shut up shop to drill home a result
WELLINGBOROUGH Traders’Association showed some nifty footwork to win a unique football match 1-0. Last Friday, a group representing the Association took on a team of workmen from MGWSP Northamptonshire Highways in Silver Street.
MGSWP are carrying out improvement work by creating a new bus lane and pavements in Sheep Street and Silver Street and are expected to finish by September. Traders in this part of town are up in arms as they claim their businesses have seen trade slump by 60 per cent due to the work. They’re trying to encourage people back into the streets and to make them aware it is business as usual. Chairman of the Association, Mark Jones, said: “All of us have got businesses in Sheep Street. The whole point is getting people back in the street and reminding them the street is open. “If we can play a football match then people can certainly come here and shop. “We want to get people back into the street and shopping. “Holding the football match was a way of doing this.”

PGR Construction Come to Local Charities Aid
PGR Construction, whilst performing improvement works in the town centre of Wellingborough came to the aid of the local charity shops by accepting donations on behalf of the organisations . PGR Construction employees are collecting donations from the public at the bottom of the street where the works are taking place from 9.00a.m. to 4.00 p.m. every Friday. Improvement works in the town centre are to improve pedestrian access and create a bus lane, however, essential work has hampered trade due to poor access whilst the works are carried out. Danielle Petter, area manager of Scope said “ We have seen a downturn in donations and we are also not seeing as many customers because they perhaps think that we are closed.” Bobby Jackson, Assistant Manager at the British Red Cross Shop said “ Normally People just pull up outside for a couple of minutes and unload any donations. But it is good news if it happens and the workmen collect the donations.”
