Client: Peterborough City Council
Value: £2,600,00

This project was awarded in February 2011 following a successful competitive tender process. The works involved extensive alterations and extensions to the school including a new car park extension, playground extension and reconfiguration.

The works started in earnest during April 2011 and were carried out in a live working school environment. The project was split into 2 sectional completions with phased possession dates:
1. Reception Classrooms (3nr) & Out of School Club Extension including w/c’s, cloakrooms and circulation areas
2. Works to Existing School, Classroom Extension (4nr) including w/c’s, cloakrooms and circulation areas, Plant Room and External Works

The building was constructed from Timber Frame (Contractors Design) with external envelope treatments including facing brickwork, Trespa Rainscreen Cladding and Green Sedum Roofing. The M&E Package was valued at £700,000 and included a new biomass boiler.

Close co-ordination was required on a day to day basis between our dedicated Site Manager and the School Caretaker controlling deliveries, vehicle movements and managing key dates.

The project was nominated as a finalist under two separate categories:
1. Non-Residential Construction
2. Technical Innovation/Sustainability
